RE: WOOLWORTHS MIX UP MAKES MY DAY

I work for woolies in Redhill Surrey. Shopkeepers do not have to sell at the price of the label wether it is correctly priced or not. It is the managers choice wether to sell at that price. We are allowed by law to withdraw an item for sale if we like ie argus did when they advertised 28 inch widescreen tellies for 3.99 . Usually the manager lets the person have the item at the wrong price to keep a good customer service goingnot that he has to sell it at that price.

So there you have it

I work for woolies and as far as I know it does not play cdrs or vcds. It is the 100 and does not play mp3s.

RE: proline 1000 hack problem.

works fine on mine. Make sure the disk tray is empty and that you are pressing enter and it should work.

How Loud can you go ? Sony htk215

I am seriously tempted to purchase the Sony htk215 DTS amp, but before I do i wondered if anyone who has bought this amp can answer me the following.

I have a medium sized living room and wondered how loud the system got and if there was any distortion of sound at loud volume. Will it rock my socks off or not , can I belive that a loud sound can come out frrom something so small? I also have a cyberhomead512 dvd player and have checked the connections on the back. I has phono sockets for the speakers and woofer etc plus otical coaxal , i presume that the coaxal cable would be ok for the amp. Does the amp come with all the leads etc ? Cheapest on line is £270 anyone seen it cheaper ?

RE: prologic/dts amps and and fearful of the wife

I definately do not have line out sockets on the back of the tv, the only line out is a two way av socket.

I shall check out the webb site you recommended. thanks

ps

I tried sucking the lead and it made my hair stand on end doh!

pps

Just took a look at the web site you recomended and hey its great, just what I needed, bought one straight away. Problem sorted ta

no line outs

No stereo out put (line out ) on my tv help. dts amp connection probs
posted by Bluenose on Friday, 19th October 2001, 12:32
I have a 28 inch Dolby Pro Log Grundig ws tv. At the moment all is fine. I have a sony vcr, cyberhome adm512 dvd and grundig sky digital.

the set up at the moment is that I have sky connected by scart to my vcr and then vcr to tv via scart. My dvd is linked to my tv via the scart and to the second scart on my tv. The dvd is connected to av2 on the tv which is in only and the sky / vcr is connected to my av1 which is both out and in.

I want to buy the sony htk215 dts amp and and have the problem of how I can connect the tv to the amp as there are no line outs on my tv except the headphone socket on the front. I do have a lead which is headphone jack to phono sockets yet this would be a pain to have it connected like this. It must be possible to set up my tv to an amp but how do I do it . If i use the av1 socket as a line out to the amp then I will loose the use of the scart for the picture or will the tvs rf cable be sufficient for this .

RE: prologic/dts amps and and fearful of the wife

My tv does not have phono line outs I am afraid, but I do have a scart socket adapter which has a two way switch and goes scart to phono will this do? My tv has two scarts on it one to video and one to the sky box, will I need a scart switcher as I will need to connet sky and my video to the tv as well , the speakers that i use at the moment are right next to yhe tv and no picture distortion.

prologic/dts amps and and fearful of the wife

I am hoping to purchase a dts amp for my cyberhome adm512 dvd player.
This is currently connected (dvd player) to my Grundig 28w tellie. My tv is prologic but I can only get prologic from my dvd player using it hence the digital amp. I am hoping to connect my tv through the amp thus getting rid of the extra speakers as they come with the amp. My question is this. If I connect the tv to the amp (sony htk 215 poss) could my wife still watch/listen to the tellie without using the amp ? I also listen to Digital radio via sky and mp3/cds from my dvd player but as I have them connected via the tv I have to keep the tv on which is annoying (well for the wife anyway) Am I right in thinking that if I connect both sky and dvd/mp3 player to the amp then I could turn the tv off ?

Final question really , if i did buy the sony htk 215 could I use my 100watt speakers on it or would I blow the amp?

RE: sony HTK 215

I am a complete newbie when it comes to amps. I have seen the reviews on this player and am seriously cosidering buying one. I have a few queeries though. I currently have a prologic 28w Grundig tv and a Cyberhome adm512 dvd player. Firstly the dvd player has a digital coaxal connetion on the back and audio connections to separate speakers. If I get the amp do I just connect the dvd player to the Sony amp using the coaxal cable? Secondly my wife is a bit of a ludite when it comes to all of this techie stuff so if I connect my tv to the amp can she still watch/listen to the tellie without using the amp?

finaly does anyone know how loud the sound is cos 25w does sound a litle puny, I have 100w spakers connected as fronts on my tv 8ohms I think could I use these on the system ?

RE: Cyberhome AD-L528 - Anyone recommend this for a budget player?

I have had a yello player 2 scan 2000 players and they all went back. I boutht the cyberhome adm512 when it was £130 at smiths and have found it to be the bees knees. I have even used the firmware from the net to make it multiregion and macrovision free. my only slight critism is that it hums on the menu screen. Go for it.
