for me it is `return of the pink panther`. it is not 16:9 so you have to zoom in. the transfer is the worst iv seen so when zoomed it is watchable at best.

try this.
Power on your player and your TV
Press SETUP on your remote
Key in 8,8,8,8 on your remote, followed by the >>l button
A new menu option will appear in the SETUP MENU page called VERSION
Use the cursor keys to move down to that menu and then press PLAY
The REGION CODE menu entry will be the first one you can go down to - press the right arrow cursor key
Use the cursor keys to cycle round to "0" (all-region)
Press SETUP again - job done

i use the purple bulkpaq which are pretty cheap.of the 25 int the box, only 1 was no good.
i know this is off topic but when i record a widescreen program on my hard drive, it is replayed in widescreen. but when i record to a dvd-r the picture is squashed. my sky is set to 16:9. am i doing something wrong?

is there a way to record in widescreen on the panasonic hs2 so that the recorder switches the aspect ratio of the tv automaticaly? when im recording the picture is wide but when i play back the picture is tall & thin, i have to switch manualy which is a bit of a pain.

can you record from the dvd drive to the hard drive. i ask this because i got a load of vcds i want to put onto one disc. could i record both discs from the dvd drive to the hard drive and record them as one title onto a dvd-r?

you cannot mix pal & ntsc on the same disc. if there is a pal recording on the disc then that disc is pal only. the same goes for ntsc. hope this helps.

I have the 980 and am very pleased with it.
From what i can gather the discs will play on newer dvd players.
the dvd+r will play on my mico but havent tried it on any other.
