RE: How to transfer VHS to DVD?
If you want "professional" quality then take it to a professional company. I did this recently with some old VHS camera tapes for £10 each. Money well spent. I now have a permanant high quality DVD copy. By the way, I found a local company via the Yellow Pages.

Deal Direct Contact Details
In todays issue of the Sun, Deal Direct are advertising their DVD players. Surely this will compound their existing delivery problems. Anyway their contact details are there and their real trading name;
The freephone number is just a call centre and they have been fed the line that due to excesssive demand all orders will be finally delivered by the second week in May - why anyone should believe this is beyond me but my fingers and legs are crossed.

RE: Can you recommend a home-cinema system??
The Yam VS-10 is available in 2 colours one of them being silver. I am no expert but after a lot of research I bought one and it is fantastic....for the money I guess. It`s in the kids TV room and that is now where I watch all of my programmes. When I invest in one for the main room it could well be another Yamaha and I would be happy.
RE: Which set up?
Richard,
Good advice. It has helped me. I have an Alba DVD and have just purchased the Yam VS10 which should arrive today. Its all going in the kids room anyway. After experimenting I will buy something for the main room.
Computer Not Playing Multi Region?
Just found a cure for Win 98 and Win 95 limiting the use of alternative region DVD`s. If you have the problem you will know what I mean!
Let me know if you want to be emailed the fix.
RE: ALBA DVD113 Sound/Video Sync problem
Alba telephone number is 0208 7873111.
They know they have a problem.
If your unit displays a red/white screen an upgrade/fix DVD (disc) can be sent in 2-3 weeks or return for a refund/replacement.
If you have a green/white screen then it is a newer version and you have a problem which needs a replacement unit.
You need to be in front of your DVD when calling Alba as there are some keystrokes to follow.
