Page 1 of ALBA DVD113 Sound/Video Sync problem

Hi,

I have an ALBA DVD113, the problem I have is that the Video and sound are not in sync, I know the disc is OK as I`ve played it on another player. In fact the problem exists with all the discs that I`ve tried. The sound is delayed noticeably and it is very annoying trying to watch a movie. Has anyone got any suggestions as to what might be causing the problem? and how to fix it? I`ve tried the various different sound configurations options but none of them seem to make any difference. Thanks.

notice the same problem on mine as well

but i had subtitles on seemed to go away when i switched them off

The problem is software related and there is an upgrade available for this problem. All you have to do is call their helpline answer a few questions to find out the software version and they will send you a disc.

They know they have a problem.
If your unit displays a red/white screen an upgrade/fix DVD (disc) can be sent in 2-3 weeks or return for a refund/replacement.
If you have a green/white screen then it is a newer version and you have a problem which needs a replacement unit.

You need to be in front of your DVD when calling Alba as there are some keystrokes to follow.

Just saw a review in What Video mag

It says no CD-R/RW playback? Is this true?

I had same problem with my alba 113. Phoned Alba and they said take it back to Argos in 2 -3 weeks. I returned it and got a refund. I have ordered a Cyberhome 528 from unbeatable.co.uk which is multi-region, plays cd-r, vcd, mp3, etc for £109.

I have just tried a CD-R VCD and couldn`t get it working. Have you managed to find out if it is true or found a crack. Please email me at sillenehpetsyrag[at]moc.liamtoh with any info.
