I`ve just recently bought a JVC DRM1 and I want to transfer some of my videos onto dvd. Could you please provide me with where I will have to get the stuff from. And also is there a region hack for the JVC DRM1? :)
Thanks

There won`t be a region hack for the JVC.You should have bought it in a chipped version.Simply connect your vcr to the recorder`s scart input.Beware of copy protection if you are trying to copy commercial videos
RE: How to transfer VHS to DVD?
If you want "professional" quality then take it to a professional company. I did this recently with some old VHS camera tapes for £10 each. Money well spent. I now have a permanant high quality DVD copy. By the way, I found a local company via the Yellow Pages.

I have some cine films put onto VHS, but the video is starting to wear. Would be good to put it onto DVD. Will look in Yellow pages. ;)
Don`t worry about `professional` quality. What do you think the they do-they play it back on a vcr too. They may have access to HDD for editing, but if your vcr is in good working order, your copies will be no worse than a professional outfit.Save money and just buy a good lead.

Only place I could find in Yellow Pages here, wanted £20 for hour. :( Gotta be cheaper than that somewhere. Will keep looking.
RE: How to transfer VHS to DVD?
a few other options thats if you have the right equip already,
capture card - video onto hdd realtime either save as avi (lots of hdd space)/mpg using software ie pinnacle/ulead
dvd burner or possibly cd - rewriter and make vcd`s (quality issues).
if you havent got any of the above will be a bit pricey just to transfer videos.
dvd burner - 80- 100 quid
capture cards 40 pounds upwards
make sure your card has compatible settings with your video,
avimedia stuido tv card is not abad all rounder for 40 notes ish tv/timeshift plus capture abilities.
