RE: Cheapo Friends series boxsets - £29.99
What about R4 ? Seem to remember the Aussie sites selling digipak versions of the Friends box sets a while back.... anyone know if they`re the same as the R1?
RE: Gamecube Games
They had mario sunshine, eternal darkness, etc Quite a good range. I`m fairly new to the cube so wasn`t sure what to look for. I`ve heard good things about Eternal Darkness, and i haven`t seen it as cheap as £25 anywhere else.
Gamecube Games
Not sure if its common knowledge, but my local PC World had reduced ALL gamecube titles to 24.99 !
RE: Splash customers
Has anyone been able to contact the muppets at Splash??? I ordered a disc from them at the beginning of December, and my card was charged but the order is still showing as "processing".
I cannot believe how bad they are. Never reachable on the phone and they don`t reply e-mails. Anyone know if they`ve gone bankrupt?

RE: Great Offer: Pioneer HTD5 @ £199.99
They also have the DV444KIT for £299. It is the slimline dvd player, amp, and speaker package (which includes an ACTIVE sub). Not bad value for a good looking ultra-slim home cinema package.
RE: SplashDVD - shedloads of bargains
I totally agree. Splash have let me down a few times. no refund, no answer to e-mails, never available by telephone. Had to contact my credit card to dispute the transaction. Basically, avoid them if you can. If not, make sure you pay by credit card so that you`re totally protected.
RE: Friends dvds
Thanks Mark... i guess it was wishful thinking on my part!!
RE: Friends dvds
Splash just sent out an e-mail (included below) stating that they can`t supply the box sets b/c warner are not manufacturing them. Kinda funny cos they have already shipped the sets to quite a few customers. This is the 3rd time they`ve changed their story, and (sorry dicanio) but Splash are working their way up the "dodgy retailers list", even if Mr Shelton is a stand-up guy.
By the way, i`m a little confused by their compensation: We choose either a £20 splash voucher or £17.99 refund? Or do we get a £20 voucher for every £17.99 we spend? Any ideas?

Dear Valued customers
Further to my previous email regarding Friends boxsets. I regret to inform you that we are now unable to supply this product.
Despite earlier assurances from people high up at Warner Bros they have decided, in their wisdom, not to manufacture any boxsets until after Christmas.
I appreciate that you will be as angry about this as we are. Throughout this whole mess we have acted in good faith and tried our best to keep customers informed. Unfortunately we were being misled by companies too large to have any consideration for the public.
To move forward we have worked on a compensation scheme.
Firstly, obviously anyone who wants a refund please reply to this email and it will be done.
To anyone who is interested, we can offer a £20 voucher for each £17.99 spent with www.splashdvd.com
Anyone who would prefer this, which is worth up to an extra £12 please email us confirming.
Best Regards
Chris Shelton

RE: Back To The Future - Triology - Region 2 only £17.99 at cdwow
Thanks for the info... so is there a way of finding out which ones play R2 as well as R4 ?
RE: Back To The Future - Triology - Region 2 only £17.99 at cdwow
Hiya, just wanted to ask a (stupid) question... are ALL R4 PAL discs compatible with R2 players? or just some of them?
RE: Friends dvds
I`m a little surprised that the DVDs are now available for despatch within 72hours.... I ordered box sets 1-6 two weeks ago and only one of the sets has been despatched.
Tried calling them and mailing them - no response. Shame cos i used to rate Splash as one of the best internet retailers.

RE: BOGOF offer at game.
So they`re like a 5-er each?
RE: Friends dvds
Sorry Dicanio - didn`t mean to insult Splash but most companies would state that they`re "doing their best" even if they aren`t. The only way for customers to know for sure is if the goods eventually do turn up... (and i hope they do).
I`ve ordered from Splash quite a few times before, and they`ve been great. I was just a bit confused that on Tuesday they told me the delay was due to bad weather, then yesterday it became a bigger with WB.
Anyway, hope WB come through!
RE: Friends dvds
One thing i forgot to mention above (in case you didnt read the whole e-mail) - they had already charged cards!!!
I had contacted them a couple of days ago - and was assured that the dvds would be despatched today or tomorrow. The delay was blamed on bad weather (!?) Changing stories are not a good sign!!

RE: Friends dvds
Oh oh... looks like Splash may be letting everyone down! I ordered box sets 1 thru 6 from them last week... got this e-mail today:
"Dear Valued Customer
We regret to inform you that we have had a problem with our Friends Box Sets promotion.
We have been badly let down by Warner Bros who assured us that these were on their way to us last Thursday. However, yesterday morning we were contacted by Warner Bros who told us that in fact they did not have the box sets available and had no plans to make any more until after Christmas. This means that the box sets are not currently available anywhere in the UK.
Naturally we were very unhappy about this and made this very clear to Warner Bros. We realise that you and many other customers have already pre-ordered and were looking forward to receiveing these dvds at the excellent promotion price.
Following lengthy discussions direct with Warner Bros, it looks like we may have found a way to honour all orders currently held, but the problem is that delivery may be delayed by up to a week.
Our sincere apologies for this. The problem was not of our making, but I assure you that I personally and many others in the team here have been working overtime to sort this out and make sure our customers get what they want
If you do not wish to wait and would prefer a refund, please reply to this email confirming your order number and your card will be credited today.
If you are happy to wait then thank you for your understanding and I assure you of our best endeavours to get you your orders as soon as possible.
Best Regards

RE: WARNING!!!!!!!!!
DVD_XS is totally right. I ordered from Movietyme too and had similar problems. They charged my credit card but I never received the DVD I had ordered. They`ve been totally unreachable by phone/email/etc. I`ve contacted my credit card company to dispute the transaction - we`ll see what happens, but lets hope no-one else makes the same mistake!
RE: Play R2 bargains from £8.49
I tried to order 3 dvds at £8.49 by phone at around 12pm. when i checked this evening, i couldnt see the details on the website, so i called them. They had no details of my order, but were happy to offer me the price, after i confirmed that i had ordered at around 12pm at the reduced price. My guess is, they realised they`d made a mistake, but to their credit they have honoured the original (cheap) price!
hope this helps !
