RE: Hack for panasonic SCDT-100S

Tezmeister, i was under the impression that Panasonics cannot be hacked along with Sony`s and a couple of other big name brands. Unless this has changed recently you`re gonna need a chip. Hard lines.

Why not try www.dvdmagic.net

RE: Goodmans gtv14dvd combi

I`m considering buying this too as it is a good price as you say. I have only found the hack that you have already tried but found the following info on dr dvd: -
"Make sure that you press the stop button in firmly as you get no indication as to whether it has "clicked"; try it a few times to make sure, then press 1999 and then set it to ALL regions by pressing ENTER and using arrow keys and DVD happiness will be yours, ! "
Please indicate if this works cheers!!

RE: NTL 1GB limit.

Point taken - I don`t think broadband was conceived of when I was a student. Getting p***ed and shagging most certainly was.

RE: If you had to sell all but ONE of your DVD collection, which film would you keep ?

I would have to say Raging Bull. The extras are crap, but the film is genius.

RE: NTL 1GB limit.

I am not a proponent of companies who supply ADSL but the limits are imposed to maintain the quality of the service. If everyone was constantly downloading heavy files all the time you would notice a distinct drop in download speed. Now that WOULD be worth moaning about. It is also worth pointing out that the 1Gb limit is daily - that equates to 200 4 minute music tracks. To find this a problem you would probably have to be a music/video pirate ie: breaking the law. If you need a service that provides more than this maybe you should consider getting out more, the exercise will do you good.

RE: need hack for Pacific p-dvd 1000

It may have played in black and white because your television is not NTSC compatible. If the tele is over 5 years old this is probably what the problem is. You will either need a converter or a new TV. I would invest in a decent widescreen if i were you

RE: NO KNOWS ANYTHING ABOUT PANASONIC SC-DK10 PLAYER HELP!!!!!!

One thing`s for sure Gareth - you can`t hack a Panasonic! I`ve never heard of the model you have but you might wanna try www.dvdmagic.net and see if there is a chip for it. I would ring them also as not all the players are listed and some chips work across the range ie: several models of panasonic may work from the same chip. Hope this helps.

RE: Eclipse DVD 695 review

sorry for the incredibly late reply. As the first reply told you, Macrovision prevents you from copying DVD content onto VHS videotape. With the eclipse dvd 695 this is not a problem as the player has this feature disabled from the word go. No hacks or chips!

RE: What DVD Player for £200

My mate`s just bought a player from richer sounds made by a company called Eclipse. I don`t have a model number sorry, but I`m sure they`ll know what you`re talking about. For £179.99 it does everything and absolutely wipes the floor with my Panasonic RV20! It multi-region out the box, it plays discs with Regional Coding Enhancement. It also plays CD-R and CD-RW and even MP3! It has multiple connections and is easily connected to a surround amp. I have seen this player in action and the picture quality is excellent. For such a low price point this is well worth checking out. Failing that you might want to look at the Mico A980. For £199.99 this is great allrounder. The Minato from Tesco (I have a one of these also) is alright for a hundred quid but the remote control buttons have to be pressed three times before the player responds to what you want it to do! Not good!
