Anything with Sam Elliott in a Stetson and I'm in.

I am not young enough to know everything.
1st 2 episodes and Im in for the season, magnificent unsurprisingly Elliott makes the show, 1st 5 minutes he doesn't say a word but you totally get the emotional depth of the character and it shows the brutality of the people, the civil war the have been through and the west in general and boads well for the series oh and the minute or so 2nd episode cameo from SPOILER:
Tom Hanks somehow completely made sense
Episode 3 & 4 continue to excel and the cast really are growing into it, not only the main family and I think the daughter in particular will be the breakout star of the show, she has it all looks attitude serious acting chops for one so young and her narrative on the show is poetic, this ChicagoPD and the Blacklist are my 1st 3 watches of the week and the moonlight sonata during the river crossing was beautiful
Episode 5 and its just such a beautifully scripted and crafted show with its score that works perfectly for this western that switches effortlessly from brutal to beautiful effortlessly, the cast are nailed on and while the first 4 episodes set it up wonderfully this one was just perfect, once again I must mention the narration which is almost Shakespearean in its beauty and complexitySPOILER:
I knew right away this wasn't the show to get overly invested in the characters as they were falling like no ones business but the daughters new bf biting the bullet was heart breaking, shocking and beautifully done and her reaction was perfect, that is a hell of a way to grow up

Episode 6 and I wasn't expecting the show to be so emotional tbh, the Sam Elliot ocean speech well I had a tear in my eye and the girls fathers flag bearer story was also perfectly written and delivered. Two of the characters getting together given the era they are living in and their situation again make sense and was beautifully crafted especially as in other shows it could have come across as almost creepy
episode 7 and im going all Lasso again gushing over this incredible series, hoping others are watching and if not, why not, Tim McGraw and Faith Hill real life couple and country music superstars are perfectly cast, but you could say that of everyone and again the narration is the most exquisite part of it, SPOILER:
didn't take the daughter long to get over the dead boyfriend but the mother is a fearsome lady showing how far she will go to protect her family

episode 8, lightening with the yellow hair, horse thief and hunter :)
hate it when the episodes finish, especially this one
had a look on imdb, it has a 9/10 rating, well worth it, by far the best scripted show currently on tv in my view
