[VIDEO] Cobra Kai

RJS (undefined) posted this on Saturday, 5th December 2020, 21:36

I've just finished the second season of this, it's on Netflix, and it's really good fun. The finale of the second season and set up for the third (coming in January) is really strong too.

It's sort of a comedy drama, with the idea that the bad kid from the original movie grew up to be a loser but is not that bad after all and trying to change, whilst the good kid has maybe become a little bit of an arse himself.

Surprised there isn't already a thread about this, as it's been out a while. It's cleverly scripted, especially for something was never intended to be seen on anything apart from Youtube Red (now premium). How Johnny is now written as the down on his luck plucky hero and Daniel comes across as a bit of an arrogant prick is pretty smart.

A lot of the old faces pop up in S2, with the rather poignant episode featuring the rest of the Cobras seeing off one of their member, who actually passed away before the episode aired. Very sweet.

SPOILER:
If Elisabeth Shue actually makes an appearance in S3 remains to be seen.

Oh I didn't realise he was ill IRL, that's sad, but also sweet they could do that.

Also now I realise why we haven't talked about this much, nobody has YouTube Red!

Rob Garrison, who played Tommy "Get him a Body Bag". Didn't act much after Karate Kid, but as you say, it was nice they could give him a last hurrah.
