Sense8 (a play on the word sensate, meaning aware) is an upcoming American science fiction drama web television series created, written and executive-produced by The Matrix trilogy creators Andy and Lana Wachowski and Babylon 5 creator J. Michael Straczynski and will be available for streaming on Netflix from June 5, 2015. The Wachowskis are responsible for the direction of the biggest part of the show, with the rest of it being handled by a number of people they have collaborated with in the past, including Cloud Atlas co-director Tom Tykwer. Meanwhile this is the first series produced under the banner of Straczynski's Studio JMS. The plot revolves around eight strangers from different parts of the world who suddenly become mentally and emotionally linked and it is set to explore the themes of identity, sexuality, gender, persecution, bigotry, and fear.

Anybody dipped their toe yet? I just finished the first season and it completely bowled me over. A couple of wonky moments aside, it was hard not to be swept up by the show's unadulterated passion and infectious sense of fun.

The end of episode three was where I went fully on-board.

With the sheer scale of the production, I have a feeling it will be at least a year before we see a second season (if the show is renewed at all).

I am late to the party with this one, first episode had me curious but with so many characters it was hard to keep up. Second one started getting me interested and like Gareth says, end of episode 3 and I was hooked. Just watched episode 4, now I'm beyond hooked!

This and Preacher are really feeding my good-TV desires atm.

It's great fun, isn't it!

The second season begins early next year after a Christmas special airs at... Christmas.

The role of Capheus has been recast after Aml Ameen left the show. Bit sad since he was one of my favourite characters. Hopefully the new guy can capture Ameen's infectious spirit.

I really intended to crack on with this, saw half of the first episode and was quite enjoying, but have just kept forgetting to go back to it.   Will need to carry on, once I finish the other shows I'm currently watching.

Netflix have confirmed that season 2 will commence with a Christmas special episode on December 23rd, with the rest of the season to begin on May 5th 2017.

Will add this to my list of things to watch.  Doubt I'll get the other half to watch it so might have to wait till I've caught up with Westworld and TWD first!

Anyone watched the Christmas special? Nearly half way through, on about the fifth music montage already. Getting a bit bored with them now. :(

Season 2 was released yesterday. I was just about to get stuck in when I realised I still hadn't gotten round to the Christmas Special.
