"Gabriel Jesus. Seriously thinking of having a fiver on him for the Golden Boot"
He seems very clinical, and he'll get lots of chances in this squad.

I'm wondering if Zinchenko will play as a defensive midfielder... instead of Xhaka... or am I just being hopeful?

You really should get over your down on Xhaka.
Very noticeable that Arteta's buys are nothing if not versatile. I thinkĀ Zinchenko may be used in Tierney's position when he's injured but also to hopefully stop Tierney getting injured in the first place.
I think he's got an annoying tendency towards
'Broken leg? Nah I'll just run it off'
Either way I think he's going to feature quite often.
If you've not seen it on Twitter

I watched the first half of the Chelsea match but even I was nodding off before the second half. Not because of the football, which was great, just the hour.
Woke up to the pleasant new that 2.0 by half time ended up 4.0 and Tuchel making the main sports news complaining his team was nowhere near ready and maybe don't expect a win in the opener which is away at Everton so I'd say that's probably a bit of an exaggeration.
We played just brilliantly. Sharp first time passing and by the end of the half I saw even before we were 2.0 up some lovely little flicks and turns which speaks of a very high confidence level.
Really looking forward to this season, until reality bites and Paddy's lot nick a 1.0 home win.

All or Nothing now on Amazon
Episode one.
Tempting to skip it. Three matches, 0 points 0 goals but that's when you see what they're all like under pressure.
Ultimately well worth watching I think we'll learn a lot about them all by the end. Some irritation with the editing and the fan comments but it does point out how bloody fickle the fan base can be.
Lets hope the season starts better tomorrow night than the last one.
For me I don't think you could have picked a better fixture to start with.
Not an easy team to play, we only got one point of them last season and they clobbered us in the last one.
Revenge needed and a very good indicator of how much has changed with the new players in and a few out.

The number of them shouting Arteta out last season was depressing.

They've gone a bit quiet right now but if we lose tomorrow they'll be all over Twitter like flies on s**t.

Well that's a bit better start than last season.
We've started doing what we did last season though and sitting back when we're just one up.
Mind you Saliba looks the real deal. Having signed him so young I didn't realise what unit he was going to turn into, completely unflappable.
Loving Zinchenko and Jesus is going to run rings round some defences.
Couple of instances there from Odegaard and Saka where it needed them not to take a touch and just take the shot on.
Leicester at home next.
I wonder if Tielemans will play
and who for? š¤š

I think it's more our passing goes off the boil and we start giving it a way, and then seem to just try too hard after that and make it progressively worse instead of just taking a breather and playing simpler football until the passes are working again.
Saliba, Zinchenko and Jesus all looked part of the team, which is great. But it was also great to see Saka and Martinelli playing well again after struggling at times last season.
