Suprising Aberdeen score there Bowfer?

1mills (Elite) posted this on Thursday, 14th February 2008, 19:02

Actually as I`m typing, I seem to remember in one of the MANY scottish football arguments, you said you`d be at the game.

Anyway two crackers from Aberdeen in the first half.

I`ve just got back from work so haven`t seen the first half, but my brother called me up to see the highlights as I walked in.

Edit- How the hell did that happen. It didn`t take me 5minutes to post that, but it`s turned into a double post now. :/

Very surprising score, Mills.
Very perplexing too, seeing as we shipped 9 goals to inferior teams in the two games before.
How the hell we can keep the likes of Klose and Toni relatively quiet, but struggle against McDonald and DeVries is beyond me.
I don`t know whether the players are a bunch of charlatans, only raising themselves for the big games, or the manager cannot motivate them for normal games.
Either way, delight at the result is tinged with confusion as to why we`re so s***e the rest of the time. :/
BTW, cracking atmosphere at the game, but I do wish they would give tooters and thundersticks a rest.
They really do my head in. >:(
Oh, I should add both Aberdeen goals came from on-loan EPL players. ;)

Inferior teams. You just canny help yerself. Always gotta be a dig. Think you`ll find Celtic are a CL team Bowfer no matter what you think. Spurs & Dons have never played in that tournament have they?? Really regret posting my Dons thread last night now.

Maybe because as usual u cant or wont give McDonald the credit he deserves, he scored goals last season which got him his move and scores for fun this year against all teams, SPL, Cup and CL

You think it`s a dig, I think it`s just fact.
No offence, but only a Celtic supporter would rate Celtic above Bayern.
With regard to you, yet again, using your CL entry as some sort of indication that you`re better than Bayern, again it`s rubbish.
If Bayern`s league had the lack of depth of the SPL, I dare say they would be in the CL year upon year.
Their league is more competivie than ours though, hence the fact they`re in the UEFA this year.
Klose and Toni are infinitely superior to anything Dundee Utd and Cletic can muster, so how the hell we can rein them in is a mystery.
IMO, it comes down to Calderwood.
I think last night`s performance was down the players` self-motivation.
I don`t think Calderwood is able to motivate them properly against other SPL teams.
It`s time he went.

Was that Josh Walker who got the opener from Middlesbrough? I could be completely wrong, but vaguely seem to associate him with them for some reason.

The other lad who scored (can`t remember his name) was really good for the parts that I saw.

I think it`s a fair comment to be honest. Bayern Munich still have a ridiculously good squad, although maybe not as good as a few years back.

If Celtic played and beat Bayern over two legs winning 2-0 each time would you as a Celtic fan, think it was fantastic result? If so, then surely it`s admitting that Bayern are a better team.

Even then though, Spartak Moscow, Panathanikos, Galatasaray are Champions league teams, but you would still class them below Bayern.

Edit-

As posts have added as I`m typing mine.

I think this may be the first year since the Champions League started that they haven`t qualified (don`t hold me to that though, as I read an article about it months ago). They had a nightmare season last year and have spent big money in the summer and are flying in the Bundesliga again.

Do u want to tell me which partnership in the UK has scored more goals than ours? and no offence to ur reasoning but last nights results PROVED at this moment in time that we are superior to Bayern, at least this week, dont really see how u can argue that tbh ;)
