Suprised I even thought of him actually, I was thinking it might have been someone in League 1 who is chairman and made himself manager

Roy was the first player in England to net over 100k, so he should be by some margin.

Its one of those ones lateral thinking ones that you automatically think `Best Paid` rather than cumulative wealth.

U say u have an answer, maybe u think u have an answer but with all the backhanders and brown paper bags flyin around i dont think we`ll ever know......

I thought the easiest thing to draw you away from Roy Keane as an answer was that for some reason when asked "who is the richest manager" you kind of immediately just relate their wealth to how much they would own as a manager - you forget to take into account a player turned manager who`s been on a big sum

I subscirbe to Fourfourtwo who do the football top 100 rich list every year and from memory Keane ain`t that far ahead of Ferguson (well what`s a few million between friends :/ )

Just done a scan on google and suprisingly no one has posted the full list from this year.

I thought Keane was worth more but the best I can get for this year is this (not sure about realability but seems about right from memory.

Rember Ferguson was first manager to get £1million per year (about £20k per week) and that was in the past 8years or so, and I think now he`s "only" on about £4million in comparison to the players, I think a chunk of that may be win bonus related aswell.

It`s amazing really when you consider the hours a manager will put in comparison to the players.

My mate does the Pro Zone equivalent for Man Utd and I couldn`t believe that the coaches at Man Utd would only get around 50k a year. Seems madness that you can get to the top of your profession (without getting into management) in a business that is so well paid
and earn a fraction of what the people you are training earn in a week.

Especially when you consider the players who go into coaching afterwards, I bet there are quite a lot of players who blow all their money as they play with the intention of "staying in football" but not realising that they will then earn in a year less than they used to earn a week.
