SelectCheaper - What`s Cooking?

jouni (Harmless) posted this on Sunday, 11th February 2007, 07:57

I started to buy DVD`s from SelectCheaper mid-January - having first found them via Amazon.

Their prices real good compared to Play on many items - and their non-UK shipping OK at 50 cents

So I have ordered quite a bit - maybe some 30 - but have only got about 12-15 - and now getting a bit worried - especially as they take money immediately and their site has not been operable for about 36 hours.

The other scary thing is they give NO possibility to reach them by phone (anyone got a number?)

Anyone with any experience with this outfit? Can you get the site to open -- http://www.selectcheaper.com ?

(I went thru hell with DVDSoon)

SelectCheaper are getting a name as a dodgy company on other forums. If you have problems with them, take it up with your credit card as they have the clout to sort dodgy operators out.

SelectCheaper`s page is up again - maybe they had a weekend break :¦

And the postman brought most of the missing ones today

Let`s hope they are for real - they do have some good selections and often very good prices. Many of us are probably a bit paranoiac after having been part of the DVDSoon debacle.

But it would be great if they had a phone number and an active email customer service.

Just reporting that have gotten all items ordered with SC - their site is often down, etc. but if one is patient - it seems everything works out.

I used them once and would never touch them again. They lie about stock levels, don`t reply to emails and, in my case at least, can`t supply the goods advertised. Had to threaten them with the CC company in the end. Cheapest isn`t always best.
