RE: SelectCheaper - What`s Cooking?

Just reporting that have gotten all items ordered with SC - their site is often down, etc. but if one is patient - it seems everything works out.

RE: Icebank The bank From Hell

Sounds like there is a bunch of folks with too much money - and a number of others ready to solve your `problem`

RE: SelectCheaper - What`s Cooking?

SelectCheaper`s page is up again - maybe they had a weekend break :¦

And the postman brought most of the missing ones today

Let`s hope they are for real - they do have some good selections and often very good prices. Many of us are probably a bit paranoiac after having been part of the DVDSoon debacle.

But it would be great if they had a phone number and an active email customer service.

RE: Retailers in the UK? (Play)

But have you noticed that they have changed their system so they actually take EXTRA from the conversion? They started it a few weeks ago - they used to do a pure real bankrate conversion - and now juice up their income from the Euro by 5-6-7%

This is of course purely wrong - they have NO reason to convert to their own rate - especially when it is not a correct rate. The credit companies do that at honest rates when they previously changed from pounds to Euros - or whatever.

When Play is confronted with the situation - they just say it is `correct` - even when they have been shown they are sometimes using 2 different rates at the same time.

They also recently had a sale where separately items were 2.99 pounds but when you ordered THREE - you got them for 10 pounds!!! And they advertised that as a SALE! Again - when confrontrted - they said and did nothing.

They`re tossing a lot of good rep in the trash

SelectCheaper - What`s Cooking?

I started to buy DVD`s from SelectCheaper mid-January - having first found them via Amazon.

Their prices real good compared to Play on many items - and their non-UK shipping OK at 50 cents

So I have ordered quite a bit - maybe some 30 - but have only got about 12-15 - and now getting a bit worried - especially as they take money immediately and their site has not been operable for about 36 hours.

The other scary thing is they give NO possibility to reach them by phone (anyone got a number?)

Anyone with any experience with this outfit? Can you get the site to open -- http://www.selectcheaper.com ?

(I went thru hell with DVDSoon)
