Can Anybody Recommend Laptopsdirect.co.uk?

I`m upgrading and I want to spend my hard-saved money with a reputable company. It`s either these guys or Savastore, although there`s only a few quid price difference.

I`ve never used them, but before I plumped for the Dell Inspirion 1300 deal, I did nosey around at the various lappy sellers on the net, and I remember coming across some comments that said their customer service wasn`t exactly stellar.

I also read that they are one of four lappy sites owned and operated by the same company, if that`s any use to you, mucker.

Cheers, Matt. Haven`t seen much about the company in any other forums, and I have a good history with Savastore, so I guess they`re getting my shekels rather than Laptopsdirect. ;)

Hi Mark, I`m after a laptop myself. I`m really only going to be using it for writing and storing my work, not bothered about playing games on it and internet is not a major deal either as i already have a PC which i can use. Is Savastore decent then or does anybody know where I can get a decent one from the high street at a reasonable price.

I`d recommend Savastore in a nanosecond to anybody wanting to buy computer kit. I wound up buying a Fujitsu-Siemens for just shy of £600. My requirements were a decent battery life more than anything, as like you I was just after one for doing writing on rather than games, etc. The model I got has a DVD burner in it and better spec than my laptop, so I`m a happy bunny.

Anamorphism is simply a method of recording a wider-than-4:3 image on a 4:3 frame.
As virtually all movies made since 1954 have been wider than 4:3, they require anamorphic transfers
if they are to be shown properly on a 16:9 display. If you do not have a 16:9 display,
Isn`t it time you bought a new telly, you cheapskate?

Only used Savastore once (just a few months ago) - had serious problems with their Courier Amtrak - spent 3 days at home waiting despite paying extra for next day delivery. Tried to hassle Savastore during these 3 days and no joy whatsoever.

Tried to get a refund from Savastore for the delivery charge - tooks several emails to get a response and even then they only refunded the next day surcharge - not the full delivery charge - which is what I would have expected as compensation for the inconvenience caused to me. I am sure they could have refused to pay Amtrak for the crap service.

On the subject of Laptopsdirect.co.uk - they are owned by CET Ltd and I ordered a Loox N500 GPS PDA from them a few months back for an absolute bargain £189. I picked the cheaper 4 working days delivery option and it arrived within 2 days.
