Ever heard of them or had any experience of them?

They used to be SelectDVDs.

I had a couple of orders with them and no problems but like most retailers some had horror stories to tell!

These were the people that advertised 50 DVDs for £1.47 and failed to deliver them. Also, a book I have ordered has not arrived after 3 weeks of waiting, and although I have a confirmation note from them, and they have taken my money, having just logged on to their website I can find no trace of my order.

Just a quick addition to my previous post.

The good news was that my book did finally arrive. The bad news is that it was obviously a return, with both a torn cover and seemed to have been read.

I cannot begin to understand the mentality of the person who actually packed this book and posted it to me. I will never, ever, do business with them again.

Has anyone else got any feedback of this retailer? I`ve recently signed up as an affiliate for their site (and had a couple of orders too) but would reconsider promoting them if there as bad the posts above suggest.

Thanks
Brett

I ordered seasons 5 & 6 of Seinfeld from them last Friday and both seasons were in stock, i got an email confirming the order and then another one on Monday saying they would be dispatched within 24 hours, i heard nothing until Thursday from them, when they sent me another email stating that they hadn`t got the items in stock and couldn`t get them in the forseeable future and told me they would refund my card.

yes i have used SelectCheaper.com a couple of times now and both have times they have delivered within 5 days to me, 1 being 3 days, and looking on find-dvd they were the cheapest out of 43 retailers! :D

Very good in my opinion, came in an excellent card board type packaging aswell, like Amazon do, so may be they have the same type of dispatch centre.

Have just bought Wedding singer from them, i love that film, for £5.63 including postage and packaging, this was 50 pence cheaper than the next cheapest out of 43 retailers.

Will let you know how long it takes to arrive

Same experience as RaveDave.
I ordered Hex Season 2 at a price of £11.57 (ok , I know it was probably a misprice ;) .
Got the email confirmation , money taken from my account , email says will despatch in next 2 or 3 days , 2 days later email saying sorry no stock , money refunded.
What hacks me off especially is that it is the third order (out of three) that I have had with them treated in the same way ! Also , in this case and with my previous order , despite them saying that they cannot get any stock , the DVD is still showing on their website as in stock and usually despatched in 24 hours >:(
The terms and conditions say that a contract occurs when the item is despatched. Is there anything in law which says different ?

Update on these jokers :/
In addition to the `Hex` DVD episode detailed above , I also ordered 2 copies of the TV series `Outlaws` from them at a low price (about £3.99 , I think).
Had the usual , got your order , your order has been despatched , but now , 4 days after the despatch email , I get the following

Quote:
This is an update regarding the OUTLAWS item that we have recently dispatched.

Unfortunetely the package has been returned to us in a badly damaged condition. It seems to have been damaged somewhere in the mail sorting process.

To resolve the matter a full refund will be processed this afternoon, The refund will be processed directly on to the card used to make payment and will show in your card account in 2-4 working days (depending on the bank used.)

Thing is , I got 2 of these emails because I ordered two copies as seperate orders , so it would seem that 2 seperate DVDs sent to me have been damaged in the post and returned to them. I order , from various sources an average of 3 - 4 DVDs a week and although I have had a (very) small number damaged in the post and the odd one lost , I have never (to my knowledge) had any returned to the sender. Bit of a coincedence >:(
Of course , Outlaws is still showing as in stock , so they could send me another copy , but , of course , it is now at a higher price (£11.51) , so they would use any excuse not to supply it. I could ask (as I did for the `Hex` DVD) , but it would be a waste of email as they will use any excuse not to supply.
This is now 4 orders that I have had with this company , all cancelled. This happens a lot with various retailers and normally I don`t let it bother me. What bugs me about this mob is that they take the money , tell you the DVD has been despatched and THEN back down and say `we haven`t really sent it` or ` it was damaged , but we ain`t going to send a replacement , sorry" >:(
My opinion of this company is that they probably supply DVDs ok if they are ordered at a reasonable price , but if they sell at a large discount (intentionally or otherwise) , then their `system` has an inbuilt dishonesty to ensure that they do not supply.
As they are a Jersy based company , I have opened up a dialog with Jersey Trading Standards , just to give me some hope of sticking it to them :)
My advice to you all is to give them a wide berth , especially if the DVD they are selling is very cheap ;)
