LoveFilm.com - Anybody use them?

mib150 (Competent) posted this on Friday, 15th April 2005, 18:09

Hi All

Just bought a new DVD player, there was a flyer inside promoting LoveFilm.com, one of these pay a monthly fee, rent dvd`s, copy I mean watch, then send back.

Anybody use one of these services? Is it impossible to get new releases?

Thoughts/comments appreciated.

exit this thread back to the main "Retailer Reviews" thread, and then look at the third one down (at time of posting), a big "LOVEFILM TERRIBLE TURNAROUND" thread has already been posted, Plus i`m sure that there`s loads i`ve seen in the past, try searching the site. (Either just above the forum sections on the left, or at the top of most pages)

Erm, for some reason (recommending you to them via me and both getting extra free period), my reply was deleted :/ :(
PM me so I can answer :/
Yes, I get good service from them. 18 films since 29th March.
Is something so wrong with, when one member asks about joining a club, another member suggests something to their mutual benefit? Far worse things go on and get talked about openly on this site :(

Mods, I gave no `affiliation link` or stood to make any money.
Has reestit mutton agreed in advance about his proper affiliation links where he does get money? (nothing against him - his bargains are great, just wondering what I did that was so wrong..)

I am an avid hater of the said company. They sent me 2 films all of last week when I was expecting at least 6. At the rate I return them it should be 6 a week.

Their stalling technique is quite the p*** taker.

Avoid like the plague.

Ste

You posted info about "I can send you a code which gets you a free 4 week trial and me 4 weeks free too" - yeah, you and every LoveFilm customer, Ste ;).

All of the "deleted message" e-mails we send are pre-written, so this was the nearest. Essntially, you stood to gain from this post, which is as near as affiliation as you can get.

Reestit posts non-affiliated links here, which is fine - it`s up to folks to consider whether they wish to reward him via his website. As his bargains are so very popular, the uproar in banning him isn`t productive - he doesn`t post affiliated links - you did....

clayts,
I did not say I could send a code. I am already a member there and as such can recommend others. Instead of the normal 2 week trial, they get a 4 week trial. That`s all I said I would do. Nothing to do with codes or affiliation.
Didn`t realise recommending people was against site rules :/ and am still amazed that my post is considered against forum rules.

No I didn`t. There was no link whatsoever. And, as I said, in no way do I want to stop reestit`s great bargains. However, you need to check things. He posts both and is quite open about it. Try reading some.
