Yes - they did warn they were coming back - I think it`s actually a ploy to spice up their "Fidelity iCard" scheme they`ve got (pay annual sub and get free shipping and discounts). It`s annoying, because I spotted that they`re doing No Doubt`s video compilation for just over a fiver, but you have to add postage now...grrr....

Well, it`s still supposed to be free shipping if you`ve got the infidel card

That`s a good idea pay dvdsoon $50 before you receive a DVD. Anyone know how many DVDs you would have to buy to recover the outlay. (pre 01/01/2005)

for me it was five boxsets for $40 each (5xdiscount of $10=$50). plus i had more on preorder anyway.

and btw i can`t see where they are charging as all the new orders i am trying to place now have free shipping still applied.

Fair enough no more DVDSoon for me. I guess they calculated that they would lose a certain amount of UK business but always have the option to restore free shipping if they are losing too much.

If you have the Fidelity iCard and are logged in, you get free shipping, otherwise $4.98 CAD shipping is added to your order at the checkout. Considering some DVD Soon stuff is only $7.98 CAD, I think the shipping is going to kill off a fair chunk of their UK orders.

Sad to see the free postage go, myself - but it`s hardly worth their while when people are ordering a single cheap DVD and they`re having to send it across the globe for free. And considering most kept the number of items in an order down to avoid customs, it`s really no surprise they got wise that`s it`s probably not economicaly sound to send £17 worth of merchandise transatlantic in 5 parcels for free... ;)

CA$ 4.98 isn`t going to break the bank if you order a substantial item. I agree though, it makes ordering their famous CA$ 6.98 DVDs redundant. :(

Are those the FOX box sets that work out at just over £18 without discount? As I understand it, they will put the price on the package as the value of the item so am not sure whether to risk it.
