Carpet Right? More like Carpet Wrong!!!

visfix (Competent) posted this on Sunday, 12th December 2004, 20:09

Under no circumstances buy from these con artists, they deliberately under quote on fitting and underlay etc, leaving the poor customer to either pay extra or not get their carpets fitted!
Rang their customer services to complain and was treated like a complete moron. Told them that they had lost any future trade from me and my family and they said, and I quote,

".....Well, we don`t really care, because there is always someone walking through the door that we haven`t conned yet!"

Their words not mine.

DO NOT BUY FROM CARPET RIGHT, YOU WILL BE RIPPED OFF!!!!

That`s good customer service isn`t it....NOT....lol :)

You didn`t get a name by any chance when they answered the phone did you. You know: "hello, welcome to Carpetright, XXXXX speaking, how may I help you?"

You might not even need a name if calls and times are logged to operators. I`d be sending a strongly worded email to the man at the top. Let him know how his staff are treating their customers.

Email one of these guys or gals if you can find an email address for them. :D

Unfortunately, no names were given, just `Customer (sic) Services.....`

As for the man at the top, if anyone knows how I could get in touch with him, I would be very grateful.........

I work for Carpetright in the IT Dept. I am sorry to hear about your experience with the customer services dept. I am not willing to risk my job over this, but I might be able to help a little. To get a complaint to the top man (Lord Harris) you will have to go through his PA (Judy Willett).

Hope this helps

Many, many thanks. I will send her a polite, but honest email and don`t worry, I understand your position, and discretion is paramount. You will not be in any jeopardy.

If there is anything I can help you with, drop me a line.

Cheers

Craig.

Got my carpets fitted by these jokers about three years back, problems included waiting about 2 months for carpets they claimed to have in stock and poorly fitted carpets. Complaints fell on deaf ears. Only good thing I`ve had from them was laminate flooring (better than B&Q) and I fitted that myself. Carpets have since been replaced by local independant retailer who offered a much quicker and better service.

Well, I had a reply, from the head of Customer Services, no less!

However, it was a standard fob off letter `...........blah, blah.......customer service is paramount.....blah, blah..........we will investigate the store in question............blah, blah`

So I have sent a response pointing out the fact that customer services themselves were totally incompetent.

Watch this space!

LOL ..... typical. You know what they say, it starts from the top and works it`s way down the ranks. Now you know why their customer service is how it is. :)
