as my local library in derby has latest titles for £1.50 for 3 day hire, is this cheap? how much do places like blockbuster charge?

New releases in Blockbuster are £3.75 for 2 nights, which then drops to £2.75 for 2 nights, eventually. So yes - your local library is cheap. 8)

Went in my local Choices yesterday for first time in ages, their new titles are £3.50 for two nights, slightly older £3 for two nights and oldest £2 for a week.
My friend in the States is horrified at our rental costs, on Mondays she can get pretty recent titles for five nights for 50c!
This is why I either rent from my library - though not as cheap as yours - or buy.

Why not try the unlimited supply ones? There are quite a few now all at £14 a month so you would need to take about 10 for this to be worthwhile. Most are offering two free weeks so you could try each one first to see who is best at getting the discs out. They either send out 2 or 3 at a time which is great for a quiet weekend for the children...
I think even Blockbuster might be doing this now.
I`m trying this at the moment-its a good opportunity to catch up on the not-quite blockbusters and a boon for those without regular babysitters.

Does anybody else have any comments about the service?
Also means you can try before you buy except for those absolutely must haves.

Blockbusters do take the proverbial p*** when it comes to renting. £3.75 for a 2 day rental is an absolute unequvical rip off. The online ones are good but many are quite sloppy when it comes to dispatching movies, problem being too much reliance on the postal service. I recommend DVDSONTAP though they have very few new releases.

Does anyone know if blockbusters have any deals like special pass deals or 3 for a fiver?
