Richer sounds - bloody annoying!!

I`ve seen the second DVD player I`d like and richer sounds have it at a bargain price, and show it online.

BUT.....

You can`t order it online - its instore only.

Then why put it on the bloody website?!?!?

I can`t get to a richer sounds during the week and I`m quite busy at weekends....they might lose themselves a sale over this stupid policy of theirs if I find it elsewhere online.

rant over....

I hear ya, brother!

It`s so frustrating when all the good offers seem to be marked `in-store priority`, especially when you do go down to one of their outlets and they`re sold out, they didn`t get any in the first place (each store is a franchise as I understand it and they pick and choose what to stock) or they`ve stopped doing that particular bargain item because `it`s crap and we`ve had so many returns that it`s too much hassle`, as I was told the last time I enquired about a £35 DVD player.

I can`t be arsed with Richer Sounds any more, for precisely this kind of reason.

They used to put a paragraph in their catalogue (they maybe still do) about how, unlike some of their competitors, they don`t advertise items which aren`t in stock as it only antagonises customers. Errrr...

Their customer service can be a bit crap too.

Richer Sounds are not a franchise but owened by Julian Richer. Not sure if he has any partners or is part of a group but he has masive control still.

All the best,

The 42%er.

They are cheap, I got my Yamaha amp from them and my Tosh dvd player the other year.
The tosh have won all the awards and was in so much demand my local branch took five weeks to get me one, they could only get 5 or so machines a week.

Same prob with the Amp early this year demand far greater than supply but couldnt beet there price.

also web site is dodgy. The Yam amp is available silver or black but the Japs gave these machines two diferent model numbers. The web site listed silver but the shop computer didnt list it so they couldnt order it! had to phone up cust service and aventualy got it sorted out.

In my experience of Richer, if you DO go into the store to get it, they certainly won`t have it in stock. Make sure you ring ahead to order, and EVEN THEN you will probably have trouble getting exactly what you want.

They`re a funny bunch, and after a few years I stopped trying to give them my money any more...

I`ve had several problems with them...faulty hardware, lack of stock, bad customer service etc. I still use them because I`ve written to Mr Richer twice with a complaint and each time he has written back personally and given me money off vouchers! Plus their extended warranty is the best in the business (50% buy-back anyone???) :) :) :D

Richer Sounds are ace!
Where else can you take back a used item and get 50% back towards a replacement with the dirt cheape warranty cover.
A few weeks ago I took back a 30 month old Cyberhome DVD player and swapped it for a new Pioneer and it didnt cost me a penny `cos I had taken out their Supercare when I bought the Cyberhome.
Also, when I originally bought the Cyberhome it broke just after 35 days and they swapped it straightaway (without invoking the Supercare warranty).

Also, a few years ago I also got a bargain Sony Dolby surround amp plus 5 speakers for a cool £99!!! Had to ring around and reserve at the store but it was worth the effort. I sold the bits on again after 2 years usage and got more than what I had paid for them!! Where else are you going to get a bargain like that??

Their "open box" sale is on November 16th. Last time I got a Sony DVPNS700 multi-region for £99.95!!!!!!

You just don`t get prices like that anywhere else do you?
