dvdboxoffice frustration

Wondering if anybody else has had similar problems with dvdboxoffice.com. Here`s what happened....
After I placed my order they asked for a copy of the credit card statement to verify my address. Strange since you can verify that with the cc company. The card was brand new and I didn`t have an actual statement yet, so I faxed them all sorts of other proof of my address. No good, they insisted on a statement, claiming that I could have stolen the card and all that other address proof, but a statement would really prove I was who I said I was (I don`t get it either). After much arguing about this I agreed to do a wire transfer. Normally I wouldn`t even consider that but I was in a hurry to get the disks for an event, and they were the only retailer who had them in stock. So I spent $45 to do the transfer, then I got an email from them saying they don`t even have the disks in stock! This was after they had verified over the phone that it would be no problem to fill the order. Basically they`ve told me they`ll send my money back, but I`m SOL on the $45 I spent for the tranfer. I want to report them to the Canadian BBB, but I can`t find their listing (they claim they are registered).

Anybody else had trouble with them?

I`ve given up using this lot. I`ve waited ages for some orders to be filled, and have eventually cancelled them. On one order which was nearly filled, they said they couldn`t get my card to work (the same card I use at dozens of other etailers), so I gave up.
I know lots of people swear by them, but we all go on our individual experiences & mine with DVD BoxOffice have stunk. Amazon may charge a bit more but I`ve never had one single problem in all the dozens of times I`ve used them.

Nothing about credit card problems so far (although this is my first order from them). Have had to wait about 1 1/2 weeks so far though and its still pending.

I`ve been using them for about two years now with no problems other than one late delivery.
Their secure site isn`t Mac Netscape friendly but other than that it`s fine.

Used them a few times - fast delivery and no problems at all!

Excellent value for money and pretty quick delivery too!

I live in Aberdeen, Scotland. I ordered Bava`s "Black Sabbath" and it arrived 5 working days later. The "Herzog & Kinski" boxed set only cost £46.00! Amazing value.

I use Play 24/7 the most, but for if they don`t stock certian stuff (ie. LOTS of Anchor Bay titles) I use DVD Box Office or DVD Soon.

Play 24/7 sometimes get a slagging too, but £11.99 for the upcoming MGM DVD (very nifty-looking too!) of Altman`s "The Long Goodbye" is pretty damn good.
