Microsoft fined for not promoting alternate browsers
Recently, Internet Explorer has been gaining market share, after years of decline. Yes gaining!
So it's good timing that the EU has fined them for not promoting alternatives:

£484m would be nothing to Microsoft a few years ago, now with declining PC sales and small income from phone/tablet markets, I bet they almost feel it.

I love the fact they blame it on a technical error. Surely someone should have noticed in all that time?

I could hardly believe that too when I read it. I wondered why I wasn`t offered alternatives when I set-up this new laptop (18 months ago). Perhaps the IT guy was out to lunch when he should have done this...lol.
