Page 1 of Help! I can`t access Ebay site.
PCs & Mobiles Forum
Hi.
As of yesterday I am unable to get Ebay to load at all. I get the server not found message, which is the same for the .co.uk & .com adresses. However, I can access .com.au for some reason.
I seem to be able to access other sites without any issues.
Any ideas, apart from moving to Aus?

working here, maybe your ISP has given you an oz IP address so it`d trying to be helpful and redirecting you, although you should still be able to go there.
how about if you go via a link
http://www.ebay.com/
http://www.ebay.co.uk/
all browsers, or just the one? Have you got any toolbars installed, mayeb they`re messing it up?
RE: Help! I can`t access Ebay site.
Hi, Admars.
It won`t let me go via the links either. I`ve disabled the ZA toolbar etc., but still no joy...it is the same with Firefox too.

Hi, mate.
How are you and the family?
Yep, cleared the temporary internet files etc., but it just won`t have it for some reason.

Do you run PeerGuardian or anything similar? Do you run antivirus that "protects" you from phishing sites?
In the Internet Options control panel under the Connections tab, click LAN settings, is it set to Automatically detect settings and is everything else empty?

Hi, Rob.
None of the options were ticked in the LAN settings so I ticked the `automatically detect settings`, but it made no difference.
I`m running Zone Alarm & AVG.

If disabling (temporarily of course) Zone Alarm and AVG doesn`t help, then the next step is to make sure it`s not a DNS issue. Bring up a command prompt and type:
Code:
nslookup www.ebay.com
You should get a result similar to:
Code:
Server: dns.lb.mbr-roch.zen.net.uk
Address: 212.23.3.100
Non-authoritative answer:
Name: www.intl.ebay.com
Addresses: 66.135.210.62
