Page 1 of Budget e-reader?

Hi folks,

I`m looking for a budget e-reader. All I need it to be able to do is display the text I load onto it from my PC - I don`t see me needing anything but a small amount of disk space or even for it to have its own wireless capability. I won`t be downloading any books.

I like the look of the Kindle in terms of the screen size, and how it displays text. Anyone know any good options for these very basic needs?

I use it on my HTC sensation tis v good

What kind of text are you wanting to load on to your e-reader, Brian?  I tried using one as a proof-reader a while back and they`re bloody useless unless you`re willing to convert your files to RTF or something compatible.

There`s a cheapie 7" android tablet in Argos for £70 if that would fit the bill?

No idea how good or bad it is but at least it would have more functionality than just an e-reader.

Amazon are selling refurbished 3G Kindles for £116 which are £152 new.
The wi-fi model isn`t available refurbed atm, but they pop up now & then for (I think) £79.99. 

I honestly don`t think I need a kindle, as I all I need to be able to do is connect the thing to my PC, put a text file on it, and read it. :)
