Are the devices showing up in Windows okay? Like when you connect your iPhone does the dir with the Photos appear in explorer?
Either way, maybe launch Device Manager and delete your USB devices and let it redetect them.

I suspect that`s the problem, on mine my iPhone shows up as Apple iPhone under Apple Mobile Device USB Driver.
Try right clicking that MTP USB driver in device manager and uninstalling it, then disconnecting and reconnecting your iphone.
I would hazard a guess that this MTP USB driver is somehow related to something you have installed recently which offers the facility to manage your music/video on iPods. Is there anything you installed relating to music playback that might have done this? Or even to manage it yourself avoiding iTunes?
