Broadband provider? Any talktalk feedback?

papanez (Competent) posted this on Tuesday, 29th April 2008, 11:52

Hi

Sorry if I should be looking for a thread like this elsewhere, but I couldn`t find one...

I am currently paying £10 or so a month for my BT line rental, and £18 for broadband. I see I can get both for £16 via talktalk, but I know they have had some bad feedback in the past. Anyone got any up to date experiences? Or tips for a better option?

thanks!

I have been with them for over 2 years now and I can honestly say I would recommend them.
I think I have had maybe 3 issues during that time and every time its been sorted in max 30 mins. I have recommended them to a few people and they are also happy.

Yeah, I`m with talktalk (similar length of time as Jackal) and apart from initial teething probs the broadband has been trouble free. To get `free` broadband, however, you have to pay for international calling (or whatever it`s called). But this does give you free national and international calls 24/7.

Just one thing... you want to make sure they definitely have the talktalk gubbins installed in your local exchange (local loop unbundling, or summink) otherwise they`ll set up your broadband using BT`s gear and then charge you an extra £17 a month. They did this to my bro in law`s mum when she signed up. They swore it would be free with no probs but when the first bill came there was the extra charge. I guess the sales people will make all sorts of promises without checking just to sign up a new customer.
