Article about it, they like it. Never heard of it before, but since free Sygate is no longer supported I may give it a go.
Anyone else used it?

I tried it for a while a few months back, but it downloads some files (something to do with Trustix) that SpySweeper kept identifying as spyware, so went back to Sygate in the end.
I also found Jetico Personal Firewall from HomePCLinks.com (amongst other free software they link to) but I have not yet had a chance to try that yet. Anyone else used it?

Interestingly I`m using AVG as my antivirus, and Thunderbiid for email
Usually (well it used to using Sygate) AVG happily scans in and outgoing emails, with no problems.
Installed Comodo, run Thunderbird, usual pop up, do you want to allow internet access, so I said yes, and don`t ask again, and have done the same thing for AVG, but the scanner seems to get stuck, and won`t download the email :(
I turn off AVG, and Thunderbird works OK. mayeb this is Comodo`s cunning way to get you to download their anti-virus software also?
I haven`t investigated the matter properly yet, will see if I just need to tinker some more

Well I mentioned before that using more than one firewall or more than one anti virus package at the same time causes conflicts. It should not be done and causes deadlocking because both software are trying to access the same resource at the same time. I don`t think it is a deliberate ploy by Comodo but just a conflict issue.
I`m only using one ant-virus - AVG, and only 1 firewall - Comodo, sorry if my post wasn`t clear.
Thanks anyway

Oh I see. 1 firewall and 1 antivirus from different brands should be OK.
RE: Free software firewall - Comodo
I use TWO anti-virus packages AVG and AVAST. Both work perfectly together without any conflicts at all. All incoming and outgoing emails are scanned by both packages. Any virus missed by one will hopefully be caught by the other.
I also use TWO firewalls, although one is a hardware firewall in the router, and the other is SYGATE. The router firewall will not stop unwanted outgoing connections, just incomming which is why I have SYGATE as well.
