Some nero 7 Niggles.

Used to have a 6-cd changer in my old pug, but now I`m in the tank, I have to make do with a single cd-player. It does, however, play MP3 discs. I`ve been trying to make compilation MP3 CDs for when we go on long journeys, but the `add track` section is causing a few headaches.

Say I`ve got 2 CD`s I`ve ripped to MP3 using WMP, invariably the separate tracks will be numbered; (01 - Take my Breath Away 02 - This movie sucks). Now, if I try to add the tracks from a separate CD, Nero will bunch similar numbers together, so i`ll have the first tracks of all the albums, then all the seconds... I`ve tried removing the track numbers, but then the bloody program alphabetizes them all, making the situation even worse.

Any pointers

Because mp3`s are really data CD`s, you should be able to drag and drop to re-order up and down.
Nero 7 is not as good as Nero 6. And mp3 encoding was worse - clicking and popping etc. They released a fix though.

We will pay the price but we will not count the cost..

My prob is with nero 6
when i go to make an audio cd, i add the tracks. these can be mp3 pr wav.
when it comes to burning the cd - when it gets to burning the wav song nero crashes and produces a cd with the tracks burned so far.
the only work around i have at the mo is converting everything to mp3.
btw when mp3 compression works best - 128 bit or 192 bit - can u notice the different?
and also whats the diff between stereo and joint stereo.

Thanks

What I do on mine is leave the MP3s in their folders, my head unit then kinda treats it like a cd changer, each folder is a disk, and it plays through them in order, I would give that a go and see if it works on yours.

Ditto Tom P. Leave all the albums in folders. If its any kind of head unit you will be able to change between them as if you are going through CDs.

Other than that, name first then track number sorts the men from the boys. if you name your cds, thusly:

Suckiest Movie Music Ever - 01 - Take My Breath Away
Suckiest Movie Music Ever - 02 - The theme from Titanic

Then it alphabestises them in numerical order so you can lump them all in a single directory if you wish. In general, this is the best practice way to number your ripped music as, as you have discovered, a lot of stuff starts 01.

Oh yeah, Nero 7 isnt as good as 6 ultra, its true.
