Connecting a Laptop to a CRT Television?????

MrBenn (Competent) posted this on Saturday, 11th March 2006, 20:30

Is there any way of connecting a Laptop to a 28" CRT TV?

The TV has the usual SCART, S-Video and Composite connections.

Thanks in advance for your help.

This should be in the PC forum, but here`s my tuppence. With a PC, you can get a TV-Out card that would use the S-Video jacks, However these tv-outs have to be installed into the Motherboard, i`m not sure if there`s a Laptop equivalent

Well a lot of laptops have TV out via composite video or SVideo (better quality). However, if you have neither you will need a VGA to SCART/composite or SVideo converter. They can be bought for between £30 and £60 but if you are good with electronics, they can be easily built too.

Thanks Mike.

I`ve found a few VGA To Scart leads on Ebay so will get one.
