RE: 1hr To Burn A DVD With Nero!! What`s Wrong?????
XFG,
Seem to have sorted it. I copied some of the VOB movie files back over to the C drive and burnt them with Nero from the C drive.
This took 15 mins :) :) .
I think the C drive is the Master and the F Drive is the Slave.
Nero must have been going via the C drive to get to the files on the F drive. (so a friend at work says).
Anyway moved all my VOB files over to the C Drive and will use that drive from now on.
Thanks to youu all for your help.
Steve.
RE: 1hr To Burn A DVD With Nero!! What`s Wrong?????
XFG,
These IDE Channels-are they the Hard Drives? As I do have two C & F Drives.
Recently I have started to store my movies on the F drive which as far as I know is the 2nd channel (I installed it about 6 months ago in the spare bay).
I might have to try burning a VOB from my C Drive!!

XFG,
Looks abit technical but I`ll have a go, just got to wait for this disk to finish burning and the PC then might return to it`s normal speed. :/

1hr To Burn A DVD With Nero!! What`s Wrong?????
Hi,
I`m using Nero Express to burn VOB files to DVD-R/DVD+R.
Up until recently it was only taking about 15mins to burn the 4.7gb`s.
Now it takes between 55-60mins to burn the same disks.
I`m using a Liteon DVDRW SOHW 1673s 16x DVD +/- burner with 2.4ghz, 1gb ram and 160gb HDD (40% full).
The strange thing is that the `Buffer level` on the Nero burning screen goes up & down from 99% to 8% and dosen`t stay steady. I`m sure before it stayed at 99%!!!
I have no other applications running while I burn but the CPU usage in the task manager is going up/down 0%-99% also.
Any ideas why this is now happening? And what I can do to speed things up.
Thanks.
Steve.
RE: Problems with Dvd burner ..............help please !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
dk,
I haven`t got an answer for you, but I have the same error message as you.
I have a Lite on dvd drive in my pc. I use Ulead`s DVD Movie Factory to burn my home movies. After all the encoding and menu building the burn should then happen but I then get the same error message as you.
Now I have tried re installing ulead but still get error message. Even after re booting the pc and going straight into Ulead DVD Movie Factory and not opeing any other programs I still get the in use error message. >:(
Please help us.
Birthday Bash In London. Any Ideas?????
Hi,
My mate turns 40 next month and we were looking to go to London overnight.
We would be looking for a meal then onto a bar/club and back to a cheapish hotel.
There will be about 6-8 blokes.
Travelodge at Covent Garden seems a good place to crash out.
Any ideas/experiences you can share with me?
Thanks.
Steve.

Improving Audio On A MPG File... HELP
Hi,
I`ve gaot a MPG video file which is of an old VHS tape transfer.
The audio is quiet and has a bit of hiss through it.
Is there any way/software that I can use to improve/remove the hissing?
I think I would need to seperate the audio from the video, run the audio file through my `cleaning lab` software then put the audio back together with the video!?!?!?!?!
Does anybody have any idea what software I should use to do this?
Thanks in advance.

RE: HD DVDs
Neil,
If you mean the Samsung 850/950 & Toshiba 350 DVD players, then these will `upscale` your current SD DVD`s to nearer HD quality (they are not true HD DVD players)
To obtain proper HD quality you will need to wait a while and pay alot more for the forthcoming Blu-Ray & HD-DVD players.
As far as I know, BR & HD players will still play the current DVD`s as well as their new media.
If I`m wrong I stand corrected on the above.
Regards.

Connecting a Laptop to a CRT Television?????
Is there any way of connecting a Laptop to a 28" CRT TV?
The TV has the usual SCART, S-Video and Composite connections.
Thanks in advance for your help.

RE: PHILIPS DIVX/PROG SCAN DVD PLAYER £42.30!!!!!
DazMack - Can`t see there being a catch, a few on here have ordered one maybe they could let us know if all went well.
Pavlov - `Multi angle dics` I believe, appear on a few dvd`s (never seen one myself), where during the film a camera icon appears on screen which means if you press the angle button on your remote you can see the current scene from a different angle. If I`m wrong somebody else must know.

RE: Centurion Twin Screen Portable DVD Player £117.50
Hi,
Got one of these from Costco last week for £199 (so this one from Makro is a steal).
It IS multi region out of the box/bag. It has played all my dvd-r, dvd+r disks I have too.
The speakers are at the back of the screens, which does muffle the sound a little when you have the screens mounted on the brackets on the headrests. We have to turn the vol to max so the kids can hear the movie over the motorway/road noise. The headphones could instead be used so no real problem!!!!!
This unit is perfect for the kids/car and I would recommend it to anyone.

RE: The Gathering
Don`t know if it`s being repeated but I `DVD`d` it and could send you a copy if you want.

Canon PowerShot A510 for £129.95 Inc P&P
Been looking round the web for of these new Canon 3.2mp cameras
and the cheapest I`ve found so far is from 7dayshop
£126.00 + £3.95 P&P.
If any one finds it cheaper let us know (Inc Bensherman2)
RE: can`t read +r
You need to finalize the +R disk before it will play in any other machine.
Finalizing a disk means you will not be able to do any more recording on it.
RE: Camber Sands
Bargainhunt,
Went to Pontins Camber Sands around 91/92/93 for various rave/dance weekends.
The accomodation then was a bit like Hi De Hi, but we spent most of the night out, then back for few hours sleep and then down to the beach to chill before starting the `raving` again.
There wasn`t much to do `in camp` a swiming pool is about all I can remember.
Should be a good time, you couldn`t go back early to sleep :o as there were plenty of chalet parties happening. Ah the good ol days :D :D

Recording A Webcam Feed
Hi All,
My friends are going to New York in a couple of weeks and we`ve been looking at
webcams from the city.
We were wondering if it`s possible to record a feed from say `Earthcam.com`
so they can look at it when they get home.
I know you can press `print screen` to get a static picture, but is there a way of capturing the live feed to my hard drive?
Any suggestions??
RE: 4KUS DVD WRITER HELP NEEDED!
Hi,
Just like jimbouk, I`ve had no recording problems at all since I got the 4kus 5 months ago.
I have been using these budget disc`s for the last 4 months and have never had a duff recording/coaster yet.
Can`t think why you should be having problems.

Hi Don,
To make the 4kus multireigion do the following.
Go into setup menu and arrow down to highlight exit tab. Enter 2960 and region selection appears. Choose your region or select multi region. Left arrow to exit tab BUT do not press exit, just hit setup button.
