I have a daft question that requires a simple answer.
I have virgin dial-up at the mo and am likely to change to BT broadband (Option 1; yes I know it`s not the cheapest but I want to keep my BT landline and not get caught between BT and other ISPs if I go for a different broadband and it goes belly-up [I like a simple life!]).
Can I use my existing virgin email address via BT broadband, as I don`t wish to change primary email address? If so, is it a case of simply adding a new account when the broadband is set up and direct it to connect via virgin`s POP3 server?

The answer is yes, i am with bt and have three other different emails setup in outlook express as well as my bt one. I would give virgin a try, i am sure they dont even commit you to a contract so if it sucks cancel and go with bt. Also the thing to remember with bt it goes on your phone bill, vat on the total bill, though they tell me they have taken this into account, (mmmmmmh) I keep looking at changing, but have my own name email reged with a lot. just lazy to change. Yup go for virgin first as they have a 1 month contract rather than tying you to a service that may be crap. My parents are currently locked into BT broadband for a year and at the moment cannot send me emails directly except by using the btyahoo webmail interface and find when they log into the webmail interface that there are emails that have not been delivered to their PC (as in over a period of weeks not as in while they are logged in to webmail). If you change providers you should be able to continue receiving on the virgin address but may not be able to send (used to be able to send from freeserve account via virgin but they stopped that a while back) depending on the isp.

Cheers for the advice. Although Virgin don`t tie you in, they do reserve the right to charge you £50 if you opt out....which is still better than most providers.
I hadn`t realised BT charge VAT on top of their charges! :o
Looks like I may go for Virgin after all and see how I get on then. Thanks again
