Yes its the LG GSA4163 16X DVD Dual Layer R/RW/RAM. I am most probably doing something really dumb, I am putting the dvd ram disc in .. the drive recognises it but i dont know how to play the disc or record from it onto dvd - . Do i need a special program to view the contents on my p.c , or to copy it ?

I THINK you still need to re-author the disc. Try TMPGEnc.

Yes, SJ`s right on both counts - go to http://www.pegasys-inc.com/en/index.html and download TMPGEnc DVD Author. I downloaded this on advice from members of this `ere forum and I`ve found it invaluable for editing from DVD-RAM. As well as allowing you to burn to DVD-R, etc it has some basic editing functions (for trimming progs, removing adverts, etc) and you can create menus.

Good Luck!

Cheers,

Nick

If you have Nero burning suite (v6) which has the smart start front end - you can use Nero Visionexpress which allows you to create new DVDs, with one option being to import from a DVD-RAM disc. This also allows you some editing features and simple menu creation also.
