Is My Mouse Posessed??

EmilyHoward (Elite) posted this on Saturday, 26th February 2005, 15:31

Left my PC running over night (as usual) wife came to use it this morning, and she found that although the cursor moved when she moved the mouse, she couldn`t click on anything-or when she did click, nothing happened. Tried unplugging and re-plugging the mouse, still the same, so I changed the mouse for a spare one and it worked ok..

..BUT...

When I hover the mouse over something, the cursor starts to move to the left..any idea what might be causing this?

The power of christ compels you, the power of christ compels you...

Try repairing your internet explorer (start>settings>contol panel>Add/Remove Programs, then select Microsoft internet explorer & tools, the repair option will pop-up) either that or check your spybots

Is it a Trust optical mouse because mine does the same.
It moves up and to the left diagonally.
Not all the time just now and again.

If it is an optical it could be a bit of dust on the transmitter/receiver. If it is a ball then affraid its a probably a duff roller.

Sounds like you may be of to the pet shop for a new one.

All the best

Ger.

It`s doing the same thing with each of the 5 mouses that I`ve tried-one of which was brand new out of the box.

There used to be a mose test page on the Windows configuration where you could set click speeds..etc..can`t fiond it on XP
