what firewall are people using??? im currently on my second..norton wouldn`t allow me to surf certain pages, so now im on Zone alarm, which at least lets me surf but really slows the internet connection down....

i have XP SP2 is the windows firewall good enough on its on?? just fed up of getting viruses!!!

I`m using Panda Platinum Internet Security OEM (Antivirus, antispam, antitracker, firewall and content control) which I bought from e-buyer for £9.39 and includes 12 months of updates. They also have the retail version for £22.21 which imho is well worth it.

Before I bought it I tried the Panda online antivirus scan on my old computer and it found quite a few viruses that Norton failed to detect.
Apparently the suite also achieves a LeakTest Perfect Stealth (www.grc.com) score under all port scans, probes and spam attacks although when I tried this test myself it wouldn`t allow me to i.e. "hacking tool neutralized".

You should also consider using a secure browser if you`re not doing so already.
I`ve had far fewer security related problems since switching from IE to Mozilla Firefox.
Also make sure you have Ad-Aware, Spybot and SpywareBlaster installed and perhaps SpywareGuard also.

I`m another Sygate Free version convert after Zonealarm went mental a few updates ago.

Unless the Sygate one goes mental I won`t be trying another one for a while. I`ve got an NAT one in my router too, since router`s are pretty cheap, may be worth getting one of those,.
