How do I get "notepad.exe." back?
Every time I try and open a text document I get the message "Windows cannot find NOTEPAD.EXE." . I`ve checked for viruses and I`m clean. So where and how can I replace this?
"For every sprinkle I find I will kill you...."
Might be obvious, but have you looked in the Recycle bin?
Or you could try using Search on your C drive and see if you have moved it accidentally.
It should be in c:\Windows and/or c:\Windows\system32

if you still have Notepad but are still having problems opening text files the like, you could try re-associating it from within Windows Explorer. Go to Tools/Folder Options and click the Files Type tab. Then locate the file type you want to associate from the list, and browse for Notepad which is usually found in %windir% (your default Windows directory).
HTH.
If you are really stuck you can download Notetab Lite a free award winning replacement for notepad but with lots more power. You can format text etc.Have a look at the site.
