I read in another thread that Pro Evo Soccer 3 is coming out on the PC - this is great news. I`ve ummed and arred about buying a PS2 just to play this game.
Question is, whats the general consensus about the best joy pad to use. I have a Microsoft Sidewinder pad which is frankly crap. I own a gamecube so could get a USB adapter for it (I think). Or I could buy a PS2 pad and adapter. Is this worth the extra cash ?

Trust me -there`s nothing like using the PS pads!
For £7 the adapter is well worth the cash. I`ve been using it for Fifa, Tony Hawks (the pad is a God-send for that!) & some Tennis games I also have a Sidewinder, and it`s been gathering dust since I got the adapter
If you`ve used a PS pad and you like how it feels - spend the £7

Play.com have got the pad converter thing for £7. I ordered one the other day, just waiting for it to be delivered!

I got one from there, and while it great that it allows 2 pads to be plugged in, it does screw some games up as it thinks a second pad is attached.

PS Pad is great on PC games, but needs some calibration that can be a pain.......but believe me......it`s great to play wit this adpator and PS Pad. Rumble does not work on PS2 Pads though...

Do you need any special software to configure a PS2 pad, or does it just work through DirectX ? I can`t find a gamecube pad adapter anywhere so this looks like the best option. Cheers Wad

If you`re running XP - then no specific software needed However, they do provide a driver CD (which I`ve never actually needed)

Ben, does this work with Pro Evo 3 then ? Only game I want a pad for, this looks like the best option.

Well I`ve not really tried it to be honest. After the running problems I`ve had with PES3 on my PC I`m going to stick to the PS2 version I have. Plus the option of NOT being able to edit the game with the keyboard is something I`m very unimpressed with.
I tried the USB PS2 thing with NFS: Underground, and it didn`t work. So far, not so good.

I`m running PES3 with my USB-PSX pad adaptor without any probs The game is brilliant - and so much easier with the PS pad
