yes, it started a month or so ago. Chris Moyles and others pointed out it could be interesting, `cos a song from years ago could suddenly be popular enough to get in the charts, despite not being a current release. They want ppl to download Wurzels songs etc :)

Also more interestingly, say a band release a track off an album as a single, it`s possible that an album track, not released as a single could do better than it!

Didn`t they have a campaign for all their listeners to vote buy Billie Piper- Honey To The B and it got to number 3?

Chris Moyles ran a big campaign on his morning show for Billie Piper to be downloaded soon after the rules changed in January. It reached #17 for one week then disappeared into obscurity again.

A few other similar attempts have been made- but none have made any impact.

There is speculation about what will happen when the Beatles back catalogue is finally made available on-line, and whether the chart will fill with old Beatles songs.
