John Peel`s (auto) biog - Margrave of the Marshes

I`ve been reading it this week, it`s a really good book.

1st 1/2 is him, 2nd 1/2 finished by "the Pig", as he didn`t get chance to finish it:(

It`s interesting `cos it goes of tangents in the 1st 1/2. Part of that due to his style, i.e. it`s like a conversation, talks about 1 thing, goes off to something else, then returns to the original story, and then part of that is probably due to the fact that he never got to edit it himself, don`t know if he would have wanted to put it in proper order, it`s nice the way it is!

Bits of it are quite sad, and shocking!

"The Pig`s" 1/2 is more of the stories that regular listeners may know about, but a lot of personal family stuff I didn`t know. Very touching in placing

You`ve reminded me... someone bought me this for Chrimbo... haven`t read it yet. I`ll have to dig it out.

admars, I know just the part you`re referring to when you say it`s shocking.
It certainly shocked me.....although he seemed to just shrug the incident off.

He`s left a big hole in the airwaves.

Actually, a mate now runs a monthly `Keep your Ears Peeled` night in Camden, playing the best of his 80`s Feastive Fifties....which is a bit of a plug, my apoligies.
