WHSmiths doing this for £129.95 - less 10% on their special nights! Seems like a good buy, lacks RF out (need to use this to pipe around the house) and could do with a dedicated SCART as well as phonos on the back - but for my first DVD at £117 it`s good value for money! (and it plays VCD`s - so I`ll have to start using my firewire card and cd-r!)
Richer sounds are doing it for £119.95. Its supposed to be multi region but for this money you are either looking at a complete bargin that will inevitably be permanently out of stock or it`s a toster - my moneys on the jam and butter !
Any one got one ?
If you buy one let us know how you get on but remember DVD = superier picture and sound - if it can`t compete against a mono VCR ....leave it Frank, just leave it - I said leave it !!!
I`m with the Aiwa all the way on players below £200

i have one after two crud sammy 709,s and it plays every disc including all the problem ones .have yet to try the s-video to scart option ,but it also plays vcd,s and re-writable discs with no problem at all.it is multi-region but i have still to figuire out if it dissables macrovision.for the money it must be the best budget player around as it is truly a budget player(i.e. for the money i mean)what more could you expect. yours psx.
I bought one of these on Friday, and have no complaints. I have 100+ DVDs (Region 1 + 2), and none have failed so far! When putting the region hack in, there is an option at the bottom of the screen for `more`. On selecting this you are given a single option for macrovision. I have not tried entering any codes, as my player is not hooked up to the VCR, but I hope this helps someone
