Hi Everyone...

I see Richer Sounds are doing the Cyberhome ADL528 (Multi-Region) DVD Player for £99..

I bought one because it had a 5.1 decoder. The picture is definately not as sharp as my previous player (Scan SC2000)

As the old addage goes "you get what you pay for".

Why not buy something a lot better like a Toshiba, Pioneer or Sony?

You think you are saving money but in the long run you are just buying something what is cr*p.

No matter what people say, "branded" goods are always the best!!

Thanks for all the advice...
Im buying this for my in-laws who to be honest won`t really notice
much difference between a branded player compared to this.
The only thing that I want for them is a cheap multi region player.

I`ve had 1 for 6 months now and very pleased with it good picture and sound with dts good buy for the money
of course not as good as a £500 machine but why pay more for only slightly better picture and have trouble with multi-region???????????
thats my view anyway

I love my Chome too! I thought the picture quality was a little poor at first when watching non region2 dvds but I switched the mode in the video setup to NTSC for these discs and the picture quality improved. I compared the dvd against my £350 sony player and there was very little noticeable difference at all.

Add the Videologic ZXR-500 5.1 speaker system and the system is an incredible value for money full 5.1 theatre system.

It makes a slight whirring noise initially when accessing the dvd but quietens down as soon as playback begins. If you have your tv with the volume on you wouldnt even notice it.
