Keep in mind that unlike the Cyberhome the JVC has no built in decoder. As I said in an earlier post if you bought this dvd player and stuck on a videologic £60 speaker kit you can get an amazing/affordable home cinema solution for your tv. Not bad for £160. From what I hav read most dvd players have their flaws. Some have more than others but the cyberhome doesnt appear to be too bad and Ive had zero problems.

It makes a slight whirring noise initially when accessing the dvd but quietens down as soon as playback begins. If you have your tv with the volume on you wouldnt even notice it.

I love my Chome too! I thought the picture quality was a little poor at first when watching non region2 dvds but I switched the mode in the video setup to NTSC for these discs and the picture quality improved. I compared the dvd against my £350 sony player and there was very little noticeable difference at all.

Add the Videologic ZXR-500 5.1 speaker system and the system is an incredible value for money full 5.1 theatre system.

I had my doubts too that the speakers/subwoofer may no be very sturdy but they are solid. The stands can be detached (I dont use mine) and are made of plastic. The system doesn`t look really expensive (as it isn`t) but it doesn`t look cheap and nasty either. The speakers have a bit of weight to them and are not too big, likewise with the subwoofer. For its size and price the ZXR-500 system is a solid performer and has surprisingly good build quality and does not appear cheap.

This system is for DVD players as well. Trust me that the system is more than powerful enough for a good sized living room. When considering other sound systems you must also consider the quality of the sound produced and not just the power. This system produces crystal clear sound with superb depth. I just finished watching The Matrix and I lost count of the number of times my stomach dropped at the lobby scene special effects (the volume was only turned up about an eighth of maximum volume). What is the difference between a bedroom set and living room set? Some bedrooms are bigger than some living rooms?

The ZXR-500 are fantastic. I plugged them into my Cyberhome 528 (took me 5 minutes to set up) and they sounded AMAZING! Got mine from Simply for £65. WOW WOW WOW! They are a bargain. They sound so good they would be worth twice their price.

RE: Whats the cheapest player with an internal DTS/Digital Decoder?

Cyberhome 528 does not have DTS decoding ability only digital 5.1 decoding onboard.

Videologic ZXR-500 Speaker system

Has anyone got the Videologic ZXR-500 5.1 speaker system (DTS compatible)? I have mine on order and wondered if someone could tell me what they are like?
