Page 1 of Sony Shop advice

Is the guy at Sony Centre talking `Cow-Poo???`
have been looking for a new DVD/Home cinema kit, thought try the Sony shop, good products, reasonable prices...
I asked if any otheir systems were Multi-region/region-free... he tells me no such thing... but i explain i have an old Wharfy 750 which is region free... but want to upgrade.
He then decides to try and baffle me with science, and tells me that any dvd players, that are chipped/remote changed carry no warranty, or guarantee, and then they will only play the same film upto a maximum, of four times... but some of us know better!
Good job i am a regular visitor to this site, with all you armchair anoraks (sorry experts) out there... BUT i am sure some people are just taken in by their blatent lies!!!

That`s funny coz I was told that they would upgrade a system to multi-region if I bought it from them. They are a bit like Dixons and Comet - have no idea what they are on about!!!! If you upgrade it yourself then it can invalidate the guarantee, but if u buy it already done then the shop guarantees for a minumum year.

I can smell it from here !!!

The manager and some of the staff past and present of my local Sony center comes to us (Sevenoaks Leicester) for their kit. Says it all really.
