I have also recently bought one of these and think it is excellent. No problems at all that I`ve found, except pressing the play button turns one of my satellite receivers on and off, which is a bit of a bitch.

Plays all regions with no problems, layer change is pretty quick and DD sound is exvellent. Haven`t seen a macrovision hack, but I`m not that bothered. As the Lecson seems to be based on the same innards as the Wharfie 750, I suggest you keep an eye on what the Wharfie owners say.

Lecson has to be one of the best budget DVD player on the market at the moment, retailing at just £200. in Debenham.
Bought one 3 weeks ago and have had no problems with it. Owned a Daewoo previously and that was crap. It went back pronto.
Picture excellent and plug it into an amplifier and listen to the fantastic sound reproduction. Would think you were at the movies.

For hacking, check Region hack on this page and follow the instructions as for the new Whafedale S DVD player.

Good luck!

Lecson 900 is the MAIN MAN!!!

it should handle rce discs as you can specify a region, ive tried setting to r1 and putting a r2 disk in and it says wrong region.so fingers crossed.

I`ve had one of these for a while now, and I am also very happy. The only thing I have noticed is that if I play a R1 disk using PAL playback, it makes the picture slightly jerky. Once I switch to NTSC, the playback is fine, although this would not be an option if your TV does not support NTSC.

Oh, one little niggle is that it does not display MP3 filenames when playing MP3 CD`s, although the fact that it plays them at all is a bonus !
