im looking at getting a mid range player,
do i want a sony or pioneer?
heres my req spec:
multi region(rce compatible)
vcd
cdr
must have a blinding picture,thats what i mainly want.found a few players wouldnt mind some help choosing between them,or any others.

DIGI THEATRE HUMMING NOISE?

had my digi theatre for a while and am now sick to death of the buzzing/humming that comes from the rear speakers .i can remember reading a thread that said it was a problem you can get sorted.
any help greatly appreaciated

how are you setup,have you set the picture output to auto.
the problem you describing is somthing to do with ntsc-pal convirsion.
try tinkering with pal 60 and pal60 r.if your tv can display ntsc just set it to auto or ntsc.
let me know the outcome

ive got t2 and it plays fine.so do all my discs r1 and r2.
the best sub 200 player out there.

the hack is

11111 for r1 and
11112 for r2 etc

heres a few probs ive found with this great player,anyone else got the same?

dvd drive is a tad noisy
when i set picture up to auto, play a pal disc,put another pal dick in it keeps going back to ntsc.this doesnt happen if i set it to pal.
and last prob
i have the sound going from my lecson to my digi theatre using a tosh link cable with it outputing using bitstream but when i play a dolby stereo disc(id)it outputs no sound the same when i play mp3`s.i have to connect the l and r audio jacks up to my spare input on my amp.

it should handle rce discs as you can specify a region,ive tried setting to r1 and putting a r2 disk in and it says wrong region.so fingers crossed.

just brought one,seems a great player.can anyone tell me any faults to look out for.(please dont be any,i waited 2 months sussing up all the budget players and this came up trumps).
is there a macro hack for this.

no what i mean is that the picture has a blue tint on when playing dvd`s.when i push a ch number it flicks briefly onto a perfect picture and not a blue picture.when using my dreamcast through scart i dont get this?hope this makes sense

had about a week,seems to work ok.
shall i keep or get a refund?
looked at previous post`s,any other tests to try?
mine plays problem discs and the macro disable works.
please help i dont want to be left with a crap player again as i did with the samsung 807
