ps2, toshiba agrovation!!!

shenbop2001 (Competent) posted this on Tuesday, 22nd January 2002, 20:09

I just bought a Toshiba SD110E dvd player a coupe of weeks ago because i wanted a dvd player and could not be botherd to fork out the extra £60 for a PS2 which has an in built dvd player, now i find out that in about a month the price of the PS2 is droping to £150 which is oly £10 more than what i payed for my toshiba, so i was wondering if the dvd player on the PS2 is just as good as the toshiba sd110e dvd player,?????? because if it is then there was no point in me buying a toshiba when i could have got a dvd player and games machine for £10 more!!!!!

we use a ps2 for watching dvd`s, and have had no problems at all. mind it is differcult if you try to use the control pad as a remote control, so buying a remote control for the dvd is really the best option. also i bought a datel region x for the ps2 with the memory card you can choose the region you want to watch. we bought from www.cdwow.com. 2 region 1 dvds the mummy returns & final fantasy the movie and had no probems at all the ps2 is conected to our tv via rgb scart.

Glad to hear you have no probs - I can play some DVDs OK - but a boxed set of the TV series Cold Feet just will not play. They are region 2 pal and work OK on a regular DVD player. I have the earlier DVD driver but apparently upgrading to V2 of the driver makes no difference. Anyone had similar problems?
