Page 1 of Sony HTK215 Mini Amp Surround Kit

Hi all,
I am thinking of purchasing the Sony HTK215 kit. I like the fact that its compact and I like the price. However, I am a little concerned about the fact that its only 25W. Does anyone out there have any experience of this unit or do you simply have any useful comments to make.

What size is your room? My living room is about 14x12 and the HTK215 is more than adeqaute. The kit suited my budget/requirements and I would highly recommend it.

I`ve got one on order from www.unbeatable.co.uk so I can`t yet comment on the performance. However, if you don`t mind waiting a couple of weeks for delivery you can get it from there for £266.99, compared to the £350 in the high street.

Aaaarrghh!!! Please ignore my advice regarding Unbeatable. It`s been on order for three weeks, they promised delivery for last week, then this week, then early next week, and have today told me `it`s on allocation at Sony so we`re only getting a few in at a time, and you`re number 35 in a queue of 53`!!!! They say it could be March!!!

Funny you should mention the sound performance. I went to listen to this set-up and very disappointed with the sound.

The volume dial goes from 0-30 and only after 20 was a decent volume being produced but it wasn`t fantastic.

The salesperson may not have plugged it in right so I`m off to listen to it somwhere else.

Unless your sitting room is massive you`ll probably never have to turn this up to more than 20. My usual setting for most films is 14/15. I`ve been well impressed since I bought one.

I have read with some confusion your posting re the htk215 and the sound not being very loud. I too was worried that the sound would not be loud enough for me but yesterday i received my htk215 from unbeatable (after nearly 3 months) and set it all up. I popped gladiator in to try my new amp and cranked up the volume. Within seconds I had the neighbours knocking on the wallls and my wife shouting down the stairs to turn off theamp as the ceiling was rocking. Belive me it is loud!! I can only listen to it at about 12/13 as when its at full volume it is too loud. I went to currys a few months back to listen to it and I too found it not very loud. It turns out that they had not set up the system correctly ie set volume parameters of the speakers or set up the sub woofer at all so that could be why you did not get a very good listen. If you havent don e yet buy it.

I ordered this system form unbetable on monday 18th and it was delivered today.

you lucky blighter , took nearly two months to get mine but well worth the wait, wot a system my ears are still bleading!!!!!
