I got my wharfedale 750s chipped and it has worked great, it cost me £20 for the chip and I installed it myself, it costs £65 to get them to chip it and you have to send your player off. I suggest you find yourself a good electrician and get them to do it, or someone you know who does playstations, as they will have experience in that kind of soldering.
If it is an original 750 try this:-
To Disable Macro you must do the following steps.
Insert the disk you want to play without macro
When the disk starts to play press open/close
The disk will eject ..
Now Press and hold play on the FRONT PANEL for 3 seconds.
The disk will start to play without macro
When finished you MUST open the drawer using open/close on the FRONT PANEL.

I`m gonna try this straight away - great tip if it works. I thought that macro was inevitable on the original 750.

let me know if it works, I only read it somewhere, I went for the easy option of chipping

I tried it on mine. It sort of worked, the picture is fine most of the time, but every so often it looks like it needs tracking . but only for a couple of seconds then it goes back to normal

No cant get it to work. I found this hack on a web site which tells u to do this AFTER installing one of their chip thingies. So I think it is not meant to be a solution without hardware footering. Although the previous post seems to contradict this theory.

As I wrote the code for the chip to work with these user instructions I can tell you 100% that these are just my user instructions in order to get my chip to work .. they are not a hack
