I am looking to get DVD home cinema system and nice flat screen TV. I am thinking that 32" would be nice, my flat is not so big, but I feel that it is worth the additional investment to stretch to 32".
I have discounted 100mhz, and since I am getting a surround sound system the sound quality of TV is unimportant. Any personal recommendations for the cheapest 32" flat screens available worth investing in?
I`d appreciate your input, I`m a DVD virgin!

you`d be looking to spend on a Budget 32" TV about £400. max. 100MHz??? It`s a TV-not a microprocessor ;o) I think you mean 100Hz.

In the same position, i have everything apart from the new TV, only gonna spend up to £500, a knowledgable friend advised to get what he calls a monitor, i.e. sound dont matter as i have all that with the amp etc. What matters is the picture, for either £400 or £500 he recommends the goodmans 28 and 32inch sets, checked what tv and vid and they get 4 and 4.5 out of 5 rating!! me gonna go after those january sales for one. HTH.

My only concern with the Goodmans sets (apart from the fact that they are NOT flat screens, in response to original post), is that they may not autoformat when the source changes from 4:3 to 14:9 or 16:9. Haven`t been able to determine that from anywhere, and when I looked at the sets in Makro, they certainly weren`t doing so - but maybe you just need to get your hands on the remote and set them up properly.
That`s the ONE CRITERIA my wife has stipulated - NO SQUASHED PEOPLE. I`m looking at the Philips 32PW6006 - £500 delivered from Unbeatable, but not a completely flat tube - I think you`d be looking at another £300 at least for that. I have heard good things about the 6005 (the predecessor) picture quality wise, plus it autoformats fine.

Here`s an idea. www.storeplus.co.uk have a JVC AV32WFT1EKS flat screen for £713, BUT if you sign-up for a FREE store (hosted by them!) you could get this TV for as little as £600, as you can qualify for up to 75% of the profit margin in the form of commission on sales/purchases. The whole process takes approx 10 mins! Worth a look.
